So, good evening. I am back in Costa Rica now to pick up Lydia, My wife and Karma, My dog and tomorrow we fly back to Florida.
3 trips in 1 week I think but who knows. I am not even sure at this point.
My mom is back in hospice but says she wants to come home so that is what she will get when I get back tomorrow.
Seems like every time I leave shit gets worse so I am moving with the wife and dog for a while.
Have a lot of work ahead of us.

So I arrived last night to find this note and my dad was in bed sleeping. Everything OK. Will go to the hospital this morning and see what’s going on.

Little tired, but I’ll survive. Not sure if my dad or mom wrote the note but I’m pretty sure it would be my mom.

Well, that didn’t last very long. Good afternoon.
1 night in my own bed is better than none.

I came home yesterday and today I am back on a flight to Florida. My mom had a stroke last night so I am heading that way again. I will locate my dad when I get there if he is not at home.

Thursday I will fly back home and move my wife, dog and other necessities to live with them for a while.

I will find someone who to keep an eye on my dad while we travel back.

Wow, good morning. I had a great nights sleep at home. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed.
Today I will be on speaker phone with my mom and both a nurse and a social worker to determine how soon we will return to Florida.
Hoping for the best but planning for the worst.
I have to call my sister and explain the whole situation to her at some point soon. It will be difficult since she finds it hard to understand. She think they will drive to Austin for a visit in April.

Good morning. It has been a while since I have been on here but quick update. I am at the airport heading home for a short time to pick up my wife and dog. Then we all come back for a stay.
I signed my mom into hospice and she is currently back home. They could have done surgery but it would likely end badly. Now she can try to enjoy what time is left and if she gets some strength back I will take her to Costa Rica.

Tired and ready for a couple days off.

Good afternoon.
I have been making her drink lots of fluids including electrolytes. Today she is much better than the last few days. Ruled out blood sugar first then fever. Living conditions have not changed in years. Same house same furniture. She was taking acetaminophen every night before bed after a bout of pain. I told her not to take it and she had no sweats. Blood pressure back up today close to normal. Went to lunch and grocery store to get out. No acetaminophen again tonight and see.

So, I think I am starting to get to the bottom of my mom’s problem with dizziness and balance. It appears to start with night sweats causing dehydration which is causing low blood pressure. Now to figure out what, other than the cancer, is causing this. Hospice won’t be here until Tuesday so I’m making her drink more water and eat more but that is a task. She doesn’t like being told what to do. lol
My dad says she probably just has the flu.
Not good.

Good afternoon.
Well, I am in Florida and have not really had time to post any updates. My mom is worse than she said she was so I am now extending my stay for a week to see if I can get her eating and drinking as she should.
She is very week and appears to have almost given up eating altogether.
Can't get around without help and my dad doesn't understand. He says she is just tired. The dementia talking. Anyway, I need to go pick up food now.

So yesterday was our 25th anniversary and we planned dinner at our favorite restaurant to celebrate. We drove over and of course, it was closed. Not sure why but it really doesn't matter. It was kind of expected that something would not work out.
We laughed for quite some time as we ate at a little diner up the road where the food was, just edible. Didn't matter really, we had a good time anyway.
Today I fly to Florida, hoping my parents are still okay.

Today is our 25th anniversary. Not much planned except dinner out and then tomorrow I fly back to Florida to check on my mom.

Yesterday I got the contract for the house from the builder. It was way over budget so now we sit and discuss how he will cut costs on the project. That will have to happen next week when I get back to CR and have time to pick through the costs on the contract.

Yesterday I made the first batch of Hatch Pepper Salsa. It turned out good and will be the base for future Hatch based salsas of different heat levels.

I talked to my mom and she still claims to be "just fine", but she asked me to order her some gloves on Amazon because her hands get cold when she drives.
I ordered 7 pairs and told her to keep the ones she likes and I would send the rest back when I arrive Wednesday. Staying 2 days then flying back home.

I feel a bit lazy. Yesterday was a day of nothing. Played Xbox, did some cooking, took a nap and that's it besides playing with the dog. Now I feel guilty, lol. I should have accomplished something, anything. Oh well, too late now.

Today I make a test batch of our new product that we hope will make it to the store shelves during the year. I have 3 products now and one more will suit me just fine. Then on to another project.

Mom is still doing fine BTW.

So yesterday I called my moms vet and changed her dogs appointment so timing for the travel would be correct. After that I tried to find out where my dads passport is and there was a note online that a letter for more info had been sent out. I called to see if they had a letter and no luck. Called Dept of state and they said they could not do anything until 10 days before the flight. Are they trying to stress me out? LOL Wait for the letter they said.

For those following my posts about my mom, she claims to be doing fine. (she won't admit otherwise) I found out that I need to change their dogs appt. for the paperwork to bring the dog with them because she made the appointment too early. I had told her to make it after the 18th but she said she wanted to help and made it for the 15th. There is a time limit on the USDA forms so they would expire if the appt. was for the 15th.

Just another day. I will change it today.

Good morning.

Drove to the farm yesterday and picked up a small harvest. Only 12 kilos of Poblano peppers and 5 kilos of hatch chiles. I reserved 2.5 kilos of Hatch for myself to roast today and the rest was all sold withing an hour. These are peppers that are foreign to Costa Rica but I have a farmer grow them for me. We are working to get each harvest up to 90 kilos per week. I will be making, bottling and selling salsa by this time next year if all goes well.

I got my flight and and car so on the 14th I will fly to Florida to check on my parents. Yesterday my mom called to get me to activate debit cards I told them to get for the trip to CR. They have never had or used debit cards so I will hang onto them and help when they need money here.
Their dog has an appointment for the 15th for her travel papers. and my dads passport has not arrived yet even though my mom got hers last week. Will be an interesting visit.

Good morning.
I finally talked to my mom and even though I don't believe her, I am not flying to Florida just yet. She insists that nothing has changed but I can see by the GPS that she has visited the hospital without an appointment and a couple of pharmacies that she usually does not use.
I am looking at going next week instead since she insists I stay in CR this week. Not happy about it but...

I am still hoping to bring them to Costa Rica in a few weeks.
