‼️ So, I'm reading an LA Times article on the "white savior" trope in Hollywood films and TV. The writer was going down the list, and at every entry I nodded "yep, yep, oh yeah." Then the writer got to the last one: Game Of Thrones.

Oh let's not even get into when Daenyrs is essentially sold to the Dothraki, by her brother, and how she becomes Khaleesi. LOL
I assume this is the title of rule? White girl comes among the savages and becomes their queen?
Ya know, I never thought of the Dothraki as savages but now that I think about it, yeah they are portrayed that way. Eat food with their hands, wear little clothing, "take" women, etc. etc.
I try my best not to put such labels on cultures but the indoctrination starts at such an early age and it takes a lot of willingness to expand one's knowledge.
