Does anyone use, or has used, eco-friendly laundry detergents? I currently use Mrs. Meyer's but I'm running low and thought I'd look around to see what else is out there. I'm intrigued by laundry sheets since there's no plastic involved and take up less storage space.
The first brand I read that has the best all-around reviews was Earth Sheets. Great price, donate to charities, free shipping, cruelty-free, clean well. Then discovered they're made in China. Thanks but no thanks. 😞

@see_the_sus I use powdered Arm and Hammer that comes in a cardboard box.

@TheRealDelia

I no longer use powders because they irritate my throat.

@see_the_sus Ahhh. Sorry. 💕

My sister likes those laundry soap sheet things from earth breeze.

@see_the_sus A friend of mine uses the ones from Grove. I dunno how well they work, though.

@TheRealDelia

I was just looking at those, and the price seems ok, $26 for 64 loads which will, (should), last me for several months.

@TheRealDelia

I've seen Grove ads all over the place and mentioned on websites but haven't gotten around to looking into their stuff. Can you find out from your friend how well they clean? I'm absurdly messy, especially when I eat or cook. Pretty sure I'm a distant relative of Pig Pen. 😆

@see_the_sus I will ask! ❤️

Hey @BADeMorte, can you give more info on the stuff you order from Grove? I know you get a lot of their products.

@TheRealDelia @see_the_sus Sorry. Just saw this. Their stuff is pretty good. I use the pods but they make high quality stuff, so I can't see it disappointing.

@see_the_sus Yeah, greenwashing makes it SO hard to make the least worst choice

@finkled

IKR??? I wouldn't have discovered this if I hadn't searched, "Reviews Earth Sheets." Even then, some of the reviews I read didn't mention this, or one even brushed it off saying that even though it's made over there, the ingredients are very good. I thought to myself, "How do you know this? Did the Chinese gov't allow inspectors in & report the accurate/honest findings or did you run a test of the ingredients?"

@Nordicfae

I already use Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap but never thought to use it for laundry. :facepalm: How well does it clean stains? I'm a distant relative of Pig Pen's. 😂

@see_the_sus Not Sure…Have Just Ordered From Amazon …Also Helps With Squash Bugs In The Garden …Better Than Ajax Dishwashing Soap For That Purpose …As Ajax Has FOUR Pages Of Chemicals On An Online Site I Checked.

@Nordicfae

oh wow, Ajax. There's a name I haven't heard in ages! Grew up using that along with all sorts of other cough-inducing and throat and eye-burning cleaners.

@see_the_sus
I've been using this for a while. It has the name eco in it. It must be good right? But it comes in a plastic jug so recycle, right? Years of trying and sometimes I just throw my hands up. I don't know what to do anymore.

@FireMonkey

The Mrs. Meyer's I've used for years is in a plastic jug and not once did it occur to me. 🤷 We can only fight so many battles.

@see_the_sus I've used Ecover before. Did the job but budgetary limitations meant I had to stop.

@stueytheround

looks like it's on Amazon for $23 USD for 93oz which would last me for probably darn near 8-10 months, depending on just how much has to be used per load.
