How do I go about finding out if having a fire pit is allowed in my neighborhood short of just building one and finding out? #CoSoQuestions
@scottyorange call your local fire department

Better to see if your county or township has a website. If the answer isn't there, they might have a email address or phone number to call for such questions. Someone at your local FD might know, but official contacts should be able to get you the best information.
What’s the worse that can happen?
Okay, wrong thing to say.

@scottyorange Call City Hall or County Courthouse or the closest fire dept. Try Google Search.
@scottyorange check if your city has the rules online
@scottyorange If you signed any CC&Rs when you purchased the home or if you rent from someone who did, you need to check that document too.
