How do I go about finding out if having a fire pit is allowed in my neighborhood short of just building one and finding out?

@dauphin87 @scottyorange
Better to see if your county or township has a website. If the answer isn't there, they might have a email address or phone number to call for such questions. Someone at your local FD might know, but official contacts should be able to get you the best information.

@scottyorange Call City Hall or County Courthouse or the closest fire dept. Try Google Search.

@scottyorange If you signed any CC&Rs when you purchased the home or if you rent from someone who did, you need to check that document too.
