Today was our AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) inspection to see if we pass and get accredited again this year. I think it's every 5 years. What a stressful day of pretending we don't do certain things everyday that are frowned upon by the bureucrats. Like uncap needles in our mouths or keep snacks at our desks. πŸ˜‚ But hey, we passed!

I've also decided to add a mile for every chapter I read, to make this journey go a little faster. Here's my current spot on my virtual journey through Transylvania.

Now I have to do the mind over matter thing all over again with new bug bites on my legs. At least this time it's only a few and not the dozen I had last time.

I check my progress every morning after the app auto-posts my steps each night to see where my little marker shows up. Apparently right now I'm walking beside a charming little cemetery.

Have you ever wanted food from a favorite place so much.. only to be extremely disappointed in it once you're eating it? I've never had a bad meal from the Chinese place in town I love. Tonight the sesame chicken is inedible. I tested each piece of chicken and it was so crunchy and hard I was afraid I'd break teeth trying to chew it. This makes me really sad.

The computers at work are operating at a snail's pace. I cannot work under these conditions! πŸ˜‚ Every click to do anything other than what you were currently doing is met with a spinning circle and huge delay. I hate it.

Progress! It's pulling from Google Fit on my phone to turn my steps into miles on the map. It also sends virtual postcards along the way. My first was for Sinaia castle.

I had done a couple "virtual runs" during the height of Covid where you still got a race medal and shirt for completing it, and recently looked into doing another. The company I used the first 2 times shut down, so I found a new one. I'm now virtually walking through Transylvania and it shows you street views along the way to show you where you are in relation to the place you chose. Pretty cool!

More rain is exactly what a flood ravaged area needs right now.

Looks like most of yesterday's flooding in my area has receded, but there are still at least a couple areas that are still closed. If only I could use that as an excuse to not go to work today, but they aren't areas I would have to go through to get there.

If the thunder and rain could stop that would be great. Luckily I live on a street that's somewhat higher up, but it's still a hop skip and jump away from a river. The street on the other side of that river was asked to evacuate. Fun fun fun.

Holy crap. So tomorrow is the 69th anniversary of a massive flood in 1955 that devastated my town and surrounding towns. Guess what's happening right now?? Can't make this shit up.

It's pouring buckets of rain in my part of CT and my boyfriend and I just entertained ourselves by watching a soda can roll down the road and hoped that it would make it into the small river forming at the edge of the road.

Day after a comic convention as a 40-something ain't great. Pass the ibuprofen.

Had a dream that my boyfriend said he was going to comb the crusties out of my dog's eyes (he's little and gets eye crusties) and then immediately said all his face hair was coming out in clumps when he did it. Of course once I woke up I confirmed his hair was indeed not doing that.
