Well... we're fucked for good now. And the people who voted red, third party or didn't vote and caused this to happen clearly have no idea what hell on earth means. All because they couldn't stand the idea of a woman of color in charge. Putin has won, his golden heifer is ready to give him all the classified documents he wants, the US belongs to Russia, now. And no woman is safe. There will be a national abortion can. No more dept of education. No more vaccines. I'm going to throw up.

The one positive and, I suppose, long-overdue thing I *have* done is to delete my Bird account. I had retained it, because there were still some accounts there I liked to read, and because I hoped that the reign of evil there would eventually be over; and I prized my extremely long and carefully tended block list.

It all seems quite useless now, and I'd rather throw acid on myself than sit in on the celebrations of an assembly of thugs and fascists before they try to kill each other.

Don't ask what Democrats are doing wrong.

The answer is nothing.

What is wrong is an apparent appetite in this nation for incompetence, drama, perfidy, scandal, ouitright crime, hijinks, and general fuckery.

It's like a pantomime of stupidity.

One upside (until we all plunge into the abyss) of abandoning the Bird is that, instead of having the froth of a bunch of writers I like all mixed in with poison, I can re-acquaint myself with the joy (such as it is) of seeking out individual websites.

One thing we could all do is share the voices of people who inspire us, the places we go when we are looking for wisdom.

Refuse to obey in advance.

Make them fight for everything they take.

Gather your tribe, prop them up, and keep them close.

Focus on 2026, and plan 2028. We need a strong bench.
