@corlin I mean, my parents treated our teething with scotch whiskey, but... barbituates? dang.
@rpardee
Well you only got one.
And the nurse handed it to you.
When you walked into the office.
Then kept an eye out.
I mean maybe twice a year.
@corlin just like the methadone clinic!
@janallmac @corlin I mean, I *may* have dosed my own kids w/pediatric benadryl once or twice on long car rides, but you know--tryna keep 'em off the pipe while they live w/me... 🤣
@rpardee @corlin
I was a very idealistic young mom and I was appalled (god I was annoying...) when the Dr. gently suggested a little Benadryl on car trips would't actually hurt a child.
For some reason, toddler me and toddler my son SCREAMED bloody murder, I mean, non-stop, purple-in-the-face screaming on car rides.
Odd, because I like road trips now.
Anyway, we didn't go to see relatives for about 10 years.
@janallmac @rpardee
My moms favorite cold remedy was
Small glass, two shots of bourbon, and the rest coke syrup. Get in bed with all the blankets on, and sweat it out.
@corlin @janallmac @rpardee I still swig Blackberry Brandy when I have a sore throat. 🤷♂️
@corlin
Irish flu cure.
Take two bottles of whiskey to bed.
Place your hat on the left bedpost.
Drink until the hat moves to the right bedpost.
@rpardee
Well it was the 50’s.
