Saw John Fetterman on Morning Joe and I am so moved by his journey and his advocacy. And his hoodie.

@LnzyHou @publickovacs Well sir seeing as how you work in an environment featuring more Dicks than a Richard convention, I guess the rest of us are screwed, enjoy your medical and huge paycheck.

@MidnightRider
I agree that members of Congress have access to healthcare of a much higher octane than most of us. I also empathize with wanting to call out some members of Congress for their salaries and benefits. Just not Fetterman.

@LnzyHou

@publickovacs @Madken65 @LnzyHou What's that like? Do you enjoy it there? Is the cost of living decent?

@MidnightRider
About Missouri:
Moved here to follow a job in 2012. Job went away. We stayed because we have a little house we couldn't afford anywhere else. Kansas City is close enough to us and it is a fun city. We are blueberries in tomato soup, which is challenging, but we have been able to have a voice and impact on local politics.

@Madken65 @LnzyHou

@publickovacs @LnzyHou I call it "carrying the lightning rod for the Logo". His polite jabs don't change the fact he's part of a band of scoundrels.

@LnzyHou @publickovacs With all due respect have you ever worked in the fortune 100?

@MidnightRider @publickovacs

I’m not in the mood to tangle with you today. I’m gonna step out of your invite.

@LnzyHou @publickovacs When my company put patients in harm's way it reflected upon me too, that is all I have to say.

@MidnightRider
Calling all of Congress a band of scoundrels raises concerns:
1. Painting with a generalizing broad brush is ultimately lazy. How do you know that this is the case?
2. If they are all scoundrels, that is a commentary both on them and their voters - it suggests there are no pockets of astute voters anywhere in the country
3. If we blanket Congress with a statement that they all suck, that fosters disengagement and helplessness on our part

@LnzyHou

@MidnightRider
It is a well - known and thoroughly analyzed fact of Am politics that ppl elect members of Congress and then disapprove of the whole institution. We actually teach this in our classes. That rate needs to be paired w approval rates for members in their own states and districts.

@LnzyHou

@publickovacs @LnzyHou I fully understand that in any organization of that size there are good people who are not evil. But they're caught in an immense wave and as such they are compelled to submit to said wave. As I mentioned it's often like that in large companies too.

@MidnightRider
They are not submitting to the wave: they are outvoted by a dickwad majority. But the parallel to large companies may still hold, although I don't know the dynamics of large companies. I have some understanding of Congress.

@LnzyHou

@publickovacs @LnzyHou We aren't likely to agree and that should be OK. You recognize there were a lot of Nazi's at Nuremburg who said, " I had to", it didn't excuse them.

@MidnightRider
Your argument seems to shift quite a bit. I think I am good with agreeing to disagree at this point.

@LnzyHou

@publickovacs @LnzyHou That's certainly fine with me, I'm not coercing anyone just typing free and being questioned for it. not very left of you all, at all.

@publickovacs @MidnightRider @LnzyHou I have great respect for many members of congress, Fetterman for instance. Alas, they appear to be in the minority, but it's a large minority.
