Ancestry and 23andMe both think I'm exceedingly white but disagree in how to break it down. They seem most confused by my French and German ancestors.

@poemblaze Matt... why you call yourself "white?" use this new info celebrate ALL of your amazing ancestors who brought you here, honor them.. and rise to first class citizenship... whiteness wants to strip you of all your past survivors.. I look forward to you celebrating ALL of your family.. past and present.

@JazzCrafter I do celebrate all the different ethnicities. I just joke about my resultant paleness.

@poemblaze Why?? Your skin is just the covering for the amazing rest of you! We have elevated color up to a place where it is a social assignment.. look.. we all are mutts here, and are as varied and intreresting and wonderful and diverse as any other country on the planet.. and your color is one of many here.. all valued.

@JazzCrafter I just wish my ancestors weren't the enslavers of others. It's my way of noting that fact. I wish I were a little bit if every ethnicity. But I am interested in the ancestors I have, or I wouldn't research my genealogy. It's perhaps poor wording on my part. I actually agree with you.

@poemblaze Thanks for this discussion.. look.. as a brown ovaried first class US citizen.. it is what is is, bro.. I do not forgive, but I also do not resent. As we say.. we all came by boat, some by choice, some by chains.. but we all here now.
