Ashli Babbitt's family files $30 million lawsuit over Jan. 6 shooting death

In the lawsuit, Babbitt's family claimed that she was unarmed and had her hands in the air when she was shot once by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd.

However, in August of 2021, an internal investigation determined Byrd acted within dept policy and further found that his actions had "potentially saved members and staff from serious injury and possible death."

FBI still looking for person who planted pipe bombs ahead of Jan. 6 Capitol riot

The individual who investigators say left two pipe bombs outside the headquarters of the Democratic and Republican parties in Washington, D.C., the night before the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack is still on the loose, and the FBI is offering a $500,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible.
