Rest In Peace, #QuincyJones 🙏 .
And when the paper stops being profitable, it starts being a liability to the owner. And it doesn't have to zero out the owner's net worth to make his ownership no longer worth it. If it becomes enough of a drag, he'll start to look for buyers to take it off his hands OR he'll realize that he made a mistake and he needs to rectify that mistake.

People (usually out of self-interest) saying "Don't cancel your WaPo/LATimes subscription, it doesn't hurt the owner, it only hurts the people who work there" are possibly sincere but also totally wrong.
In the first place, it *does* hurt the owner. When subscriptions fall, advertisers back off and buy less space, because it's no longer worth as much to them. When advertisers back off, the paper stops being profitable.

As November approaches, I’m usually gathering my gently used clothing, shoes, puzzles, games, and household goods to donate to my local thrift store just before Black Friday. Many folks in our area have very few affordable shopping options other than thrift shops, which in turn use the proceeds to support local nonprofits and after-school programs. It’s a win-win, but this year, I’ve given away much of the clothing already to folks in western NC after Hurricane Helene. I’ll have to dig deeper!

With the choices in a US presidential election, it is never "the choice between the lesser of 2 evils." It actually is the choice between the lesser of 3 evils: The Democrat, the Republican, or doing nothing that will change your issue -- your one issue.
Make it, instead, the choice that will cause the least long-term damage and see if that lends a bit more clarity for you. (HINT: Either the Dem or the Rep will end up in the WH regardless of your protest vote or not voting.)
Netanyahu is literally sacrificing the hostages to stay in power. Hamas is behaving like the terrorists that they are.
Dear Hip Hop Fans,
If you are taking voting advice from the likes of Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, just remember, if any one of their daughters needed an abortion, they could fly them to a country where it is legal.
