Two weeks ago today I received a phone call from my mom saying she wasn't feeling well and was going to an urgent care facility in Virginia where she was visiting my sister and brother. About an hour later she called and said they were transferring her to the hospital because her lab values were off (mostly all of them). About an hour after that I received a call from a doctor in the ICU asking about advanced directives. ๐ค

Quote a miracle to survive all three of those. So happy for her and you. ๐
@nursefrombirth Oh wow. Iโm sooo happy that she has recovered against the odds and age is home. Sheโs a fighter! ๐ซ๐
Great news. I love it when people defy the odds!
@nursefrombirth , so glad to hear she's on the mend. What a scary couple of weeks for her and all your fam though. ๐ค
@LadyZurk Very scary. But she is a fighter, her primary care physician said she would pull through, he knows her.
@nursefrombirth , he's solid gold. I'm glad she has a good PCP on her team! ๐ฅฐ
@nursefrombirth Zut alors, that is wild! So glad she was able to come through all that...
@rpardee Thanks so much. With all the prayers, positive energy and good vibes, it just keeps getting better. ๐๐ฝ
@nursefrombirth Good to hear she's doing better and is home!
@GeezerWench Thank you. She still needs some home care, not quite her spunky self yet, but it's looking better day by day. ๐๐ฝ
Great news โค๏ธ
@nursefrombirth wow, that's great news
@nursefrombirth Well that's the kind of twist ending I love to hear!
Wow so happy for you all.
I told him to ask her and he said "she is not responsive" OH, my I said, I just spoke with her. He informed me that my mom was in shock from three different angles and would likely NOT survive this. Hypovolemic shock (from a GI Bleed) septic shock (from an infection) and cardiogenic shock (from Congestive Heart Failure). She had quite a ride, but I am happy to report that I picked her up from the hospital yesterday and we arrived home in Maryland about an hour ago.
