Self-hypnosis is good for chronic pain, avoiding stress, and relaxing massage plus using some sort of distraction. I tried TENS and that didn't help me (I have MS and Trigeminal Neuralgia). There is a limit though as to what you can cope with. It is ok to ask for help and take medication.

Funnily enough, it was a former US Navy Pilot that said SERE-training was excellent for trigeminal pain and cluster headaches.
Pain is temporary. And live between the severe pains.
Been doing that for 10 years.
