So...having polished off the last of a bottle of , I can now, in good conscience, open a new bottle of (as I have a number of bottles already opened & in rotation 😁).

I have tried neither of these before; both were gifts.

I *was* thinking of doing a poll, however, odds are Imma just gonna try both 😅

I wonder how many tablespoons it will take of the 2M SHU stuff to *completely* dissolve the lining of my stomach 🤔

@netspionage omg tell me more. I'm big into hot sauces and I'm always looking for new ones, do you have any recommendations?

@Tail

I do, and for , I can unreservedly endorse & (here's two links to past posts of mine, FWIW):

Blair's comes in a variety of heat levels (hence my providing those links - take a look at the scale on the coffin-shaped box 😁), and I use a lot of Blair's, especially Blair's Original (I use that like ketchup), while I use Blair's Mega as an additive...

@Tail

...just a *little* bit added to salsa or hamburger meat or whatever REALLY turns up the heat.

Most of the stuff in the 2-4M SHU range is best used as an additive, anyway; start off with a few drops before moving on to teaspoons worth: that stuff can be lethal 😬

ReaperAcha is just straight-up great flavor with a LOT of heat to it. Great stuff 👍

I have others to recommend, though w/the ReaperAcha + the variety of Blair's, that's giving you almost a dozen to try 😀

@Tail

Besides Amazon, there's a great site called Tears of Joy (I'd have to Google the link to give you, but...lazy 😁) & they have a bunch of good stuff also.

Most all of the aforementioned sauces can be easily found on Amazon. Can provide links if you need them, though they're not hard to find.

HTH

Will do once I crack them open...which will happen shortly, probably around or just before I eat dinner 😋

In the meantime, here's the updated labels 😂

Yes, I know: I am literally amusing only myself here, but whatever.

@netspionage @altamaha @Tail you’re amusing me, too! Ever since I commented on your first post about them, I feel part
Of the journey 😆

@netspionage @altamaha @JeSsA This is all blowin' my mind. I wanted to try all the Hot Ones flavors, there are just so many.

I've never been a traditional Tabasco sauce guy, I felt it was always all heat and no flavor, but I recently tried their Buffalo flavor and it was pretty good.

My current go-to is Green Chile Cholula. About the best I can find locally I think.

@Tail @altamaha @JeSsA

That's my usual take on Tabasco; if it's just some heat & I can taste mostly vinegar...not as interested. This Scorpion Sauce of theirs is about the best I've had from them, IMO.

Hence my recommendation of Blair's (I'm not a shill for them - honest - hell! Would that I were, they could pay me in sauce 😋): they feature a widely varying range of heat levels, and they all taste delicious.

@Tail @altamaha @JeSsA

FTR:

Already finished off that entire bottle of + at least 1/5th of the Tabasco.

So, it lasted me 47 days (I went back to find this post to check the date 😁); additionally, I've also been consuming some Blair's, and have crushed two bottles of since then as well.

@altamaha @JeSsA @Tail

OK, here's the verdicts:

-Old Bay hotsauce was really good...though not all that hot, just a mild bite. Did taste like the best version of Old Bay possible, though. A few drops tasted good; adding a bunch to food was excellent.

-Tabasco Scorpion Sauce was where it is *at* - unlike most Tabasco sauces, not super watery/too much vinegar - just a few drops, and my mouth was pleasantly on-fire, and I could see the slow build from this one going places.

@altamaha @JeSsA @Tail

Gotta admit, I went ahead and had some more of that Tabasco Scorpion sauce - just a dab on a spoon - and yeah, it's got some heat to it. Some hang time as well, so...would advise caution for most, unless you're used to dipping your chips into 4M SHU-level stuff.

The Scorpion Sauce is (allegedly) 2M SHU, though not sure I'd go that far; or maybe I just have a higher tolerance? Whatever.

@altamaha @JeSsA @Tail

I could see this used for direct application, or as an additive, though I'd still rate it well below the stuff I reserve for use as additive-only, e.g., Blair's Mega/Ultra Death or the like.

@altamaha @JeSsA @Tail

Goodness, it's nearly 5am & I still haven't showered & am messing around with hotsauces & being online 🙄

Time to get in gear.

@netspionage @altamaha @JeSsA ... Can you die from eating hot sauce. Like if you just took one fat swig from a bottle?

@Tail @altamaha @JeSsA

Not unless you go into anaphylaxis or some such, so...not AFAIK.

I once saw someone foolhardy enough to eat one (1) ENTIRE TABLESPOON of Blair's (don't recall which it was, Mega or Ultra...thereabouts, at the higher end of the scale) despite my exhortations NOT to do so 😱

They did, indeed, get very sick...and I cannot imagine just what it must have felt like to be vomiting up the now capsaicin-enriched contents of their stomach 😬

Nonfatally sick...but still.

@Tail @altamaha @JeSsA

Which is not to say Blair's Will Make You Puke under any remotely reasonable circumstances; just...don't take a heaping spoonful of what is basically the hottest shit on the planet all at once 😬

A single swig, I could *probably* do; can't imagine I'd enjoy it much, and I wouldn't advise it...but it would be tolerable if it was only Original (or cooler).

@JeSsA @Tail @altamaha

I put hot sauces on pretty much anything even remotely appropriate for that sort of taste 😁

While I seldom eat wings per se, I do have some chicken that will probably get a healthy dose of heat before consumption (while noting I will carefully put some aside for the cats *prior* to the addition of any spices or hot sauces).

I'm a huge fan of spices, garlic, onions, peppers...the spicier, the better 👍

@netspionage @Tail @altamaha I love spices, just ultra heat sensitive! Onions and garlic give food life!!!!
