the GOP rgument for objecting to the trial will not stop the trial from going forward...what it IS going to hinder is the already difficult to obtain & absolutely necessary 17 Republican Senate votes that must be gained in order for a *conviction,* otherwise Trump is guaranteed to be acquitted.

You dont get to storm the capitol, overrun police lines and threaten lawmakers with death and destruction.
