i normally dislike nuts in any baked goods, but i *really* like the toasted sliced almonds in this! they have heaps of flavor, but are partly steamed during the baking, giving them a lovely texture similar to raw sunflower seeds πŸ’—
(i used to toast & add raw sunflower seed, but the almonds are less intense and don't sink in the batter as easily ~,o )
