Really nice Tiny Desk this week. Joshua Redman is a great saxaphonist, but Gabrielle Cavassa kinda steals the show here in my humble opinion.

@th3j35t3r Just think -- if Trump is sentenced before election day, as a citizen of Florida, he won't be able to vote for himself (or anyone else). Plus, he'll get the privilege of paying $50/day, plus expenses, for his time in prison. And not voting in Florida until you're done paying off the bill.

@Bix Theoretically, prosecutors are supposed to care about seeking justice, not winning cases. Practically, that means they don't bring a case unless crimes were committed and they have evidence and defendant won't plea. But also practically, most prosecutors want a winning track record, bc it makes future defendants more likely to plea and it helps the prosecutor build a reputation politically. Durham cared about none of those things -- he only wanted to give Republicans talking points.

Nadler: You lost all the cases you brought to trial, correct?

Durham: Correct.

@amarand Ultimately, it just shows the world how strong and flexible and durable a government is when it's based on ideals and laws, and not an individual personality. Even if the Capitol had burned to the ground, buildings and physical objects can be easily replaced. Democratic ideals stand the test of time.

@th3j35t3r The one time you do not want to be sitting in the exit row.

@amarand Max 10% early for good behavior under Federal sentencing guidelines. Of course, if an R POTUS is insane enough to pardon him or commute his sentence, it could be sooner.

Trump has pledged to pardon the Jan 6th seditionists, if he's elected.

@amarand He's 57 years old, so he'll be 75 when he gets out.

Stewart Rhodes, seditionist convicted of leading the Oath Keepers on Jan 6th, sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Business Insider: Jane Roberts, married to Chief Justice John Roberts, made $10.3 million in commissions from elite law firms, whistleblower documents show.

@Bix This is why hearings need to be held, so people understand the details. These omission were not accidental, and Thomas now has shown a pattern of repeated unethical behavior in this regard.

Navigator Research (on Twiter):
BONUS FINDING: With the context that Justice Clarence Thomas did not disclose gifts from donors, three in five Americans support his impeachment when the accusations are detailed.

@Bix And it's a far bigger risk today than it was, say, 30, 20 or even 10 years ago, bc these people *know* it's wrong, and they'll do anything to avoid being caught.

I think it's funny that many people have told me CoSo doesn't use quoting, bc they want to avoid a "subtweeting" kind of culture. 'Cause I'm being subtweeted all over the place. Even J. And yeah, I haven't used CoSo that much, and I'd like to use it more, but just trying to figure out how things work and why. If I've annoyed anyone, I apologize.

@Eulimnadia @DualReality69 @th3j35t3r That's a fair opinion. I'm just trying to figure out how best to use it in my "portfolio" of social media. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses FB, LI and others). Twitter has been my primary place to get news and information. Would be great if I could dump it and spend more time on here, but maybe that's just not in the cards.
