make puchases
with a debit card only
establish a minimum amount
to leave in the account

check the balance every morning
be aware of what you can spend
before your next income arrives

if insufficient funds
above the minimum
to make a purchase

put off purchases till later
or
find an inventive workaround

the goal is to live
within your means by
being aware of funds availability
