What's the hot setup in DNS nowadays? It's been a hot minute since I've checked and thought I'd ask opinions here? Is it OpenDNS, something else?
I'm giving nextdns.io a try-out. I'll follow up after I've run it for a while. Sign up and set up were very easy. I'm using the free plan right now, but honestly, at US$20 / year I would be comfortable with the paid plan.
@mikeflstfi A couple days with NextDNS, and I'm almost at 250,000 queries! Nearly 6% blocked. Very happy to see it's blocking the constant Amazon traffic from Alexa.
Took about an hour to get it dialed in so I could watch CBS streaming, and had one other commonly used site that didn't work until I allowed a few domains.
I set up separate profiles for each, so I can keep the shields up, and only poke a hole when I want to use those apps.
