Scotland's biggest offshore wind farm has begun generating power.

Seagreen, which is located about 27km off the Angus coast in the North Sea, has been in development for more than a decade. When fully operational, it will have 114 turbines and generate 1.1 gigawatts (GW) of electricity - enough to power about one million homes.

now produces more than enough renewable energy to power itself twice.

So why are we paying the highest bills in Europe?

@mickcarty Mhm. I think Greece has the highest energy bills. But congrats on the wind turbines.

@mickcarty that's wonderful. hopefully, the bill will diminish once the massive installation is paid for. no doubt it was financed?
