@duaneaubin I think the issue with Mastodon is more to do with how difficult it is to get traction with a post. On here everyone sees your post. I saw it, I agree with it. Had you posted it on Mastodon I probably would not have seen it. That's why I prefer here to there, and why I #talktostrangers here.
@halfabubbleoff No. I actually kinda begrudgingly enjoy listening to Zaphod talk.
@TheNewsOwl I really wish they would use actual photos from the JWT for these articles. That image is an illustration. I would expect that from some random Space blog, not from NPR. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazingly cool thing, but I don't know if using an illustration is the way to get the point across.
@Swainger I don't even know how to add a Canadian flag to this whole thing. I wonder if I can just copy and paste it.
good morning beautiful people. Maybe this morning you'd like something to shake your hips:

ha I forgot to say GOOD MORNING everyone. Remember it takes almost no effort to say hello to a total stranger, and it makes everyone's lives better.
@s3friedman Thanks. I am inspired by caffeine, as per usual for this hour. Some day I'll get paid for it :)
@FionnEmrys Hi there!
#talktostrangers
As a recent Twitter refugee, one of the things I found deplorable were those who wanted a base of mega-followers without any hope these folks would follow back. The ego involved by those pursuing that approach was beyond my ability to comprehend. Further, many of these people can't be bothered to like or respond with a comment to a simple compliment.
I'm all for adding followers, but if your follow/follower ratio isn't reasonable please don't count on me to follow you.
Enjoy the day. π
@s3friedman I've met people like that in Real Life as well. They're happy to espouse their own opinions all the while not giving a damn about the opinions of others. Communication by soliloquy rather than by conversation. It's tiring no matter what the medium.
@Evereigh Catharsis is good for the body. You'll be alright.
@drdewaynelehman now imagine how a judge feels when they have to talk to a SovCit.
@indiauplko now I can imagine "Welcome to CoSo, I love you." #Idiocracy
@kbsez some Gamma correction might be able to compensate for the "overblown" look, but there's only so much that can do to improve it, depending on the level of overexposure.
Best of luck with it!
@LuckyCedarlane that's why it's fun to #talktostrangers
Hmm, maybe that hashtag will catch on. This might be our chance to be cool.
@JKMooney sorry you had to experience that. I like to joke that photos like that are "two-dimensional" (ha ha) but it's still no fun to see something like that.
@milythael I think some people are posting on some of the "cooler" Mastodon servers, too. This is the only new social that seems to have a community feel, though.
@joestone we're easier on the eyes, too.
