As much as my trauma-induced hyperindependence response wants to convince me otherwise, have had to actually acknowledge and accept that we have unique needs and often need more support than others might in our situation, particularly in the day to day of recovery. Even if those around us are dismissive about it. Now to convince myself that we're not a burden and undeserving of life because of those things. #SelfWorkInProgress

There is such a huge difference between intellectually understanding the things that have happened to you weren't your fault and you didn't deserve them, and emotionally understanding them. Having to feel the hurt, the betrayal, all the feelings of grief and the stages you go through. Trying to be stoic/not feel those things to get through the next challenges and power through only works for so long but it keeps you so disconnected from the things that help, from connection and creativity.

Feel like my world has just got smaller and smaller and feel more and more invisible, unheard, unseen. How do you pull yourself out of that void to find some kind of meaning when you can't medicate a lack of connection, validation or isolation.
