Feel like my world has just got smaller and smaller and feel more and more invisible, unheard, unseen. How do you pull yourself out of that void to find some kind of meaning when you can't medicate a lack of connection, validation or isolation.

@lilyunsub i'm sorry i don't have a ton of good advice. i would be gentle w/ yourself if you can be. show the kindness to yourself that you often show to others. make yourself a priority. do things that are comforting or that feel good to you. get out of the house if you can & walk in a place of nature that's pretty to look at. reach out to a friend for a call & tell them you're feeling a bit low & need a bit of connection. if you don't have that, reach out to a distress line or similar. πŸ™πŸΎ

@lilyunsub You find beauty and gratitude in small things, small wonders. spend more time in nature. Volunteer to spend time with oncology patients, amazing people of perseverance in the face of loss. The meaning is our own journey of crazy that each one of us navigates after each sleep cycle.

@TiarePalau so many of the things I love are filled with a lot of pain atm. All the things that brought me joy are things that have trauma associated with them now because of what we've been through recently. Not being able to process it has robbed me of the things I loved and the connection those things brought.

@lilyunsub I can only tell you what -sometimes- works for me.

I have no one to reach out to. I avoid adding to my wife's plate and my bestie, well let's just say she is not helpful in these situations. If I can muster the energy and will, I change everything about the moment. I go outside, regardless of weather, breathe slowly and make everything stop. I focus on one natural thing. It can be a flower, a tree, a bug. I try to think about what they're doing and why. Sorry for length. 1/2

@lilyunsub Then I imagine how that connects to the next thing and so on. I look at all the connections, all the way to me. Then I try to keep it going and see how I connect to everything and everyone else. Did I hold the door for someone and help their day? Did I help someone? Did I smile at someone? What could those things have done for others?

We're all connected and sometimes just getting myself to remember that changes my mood and outlook.

@lilyunsub not knowing you, it's hard to give good advice. If you can muster the engergy, try to go out, maybe walk up to a coffee place, sit down and drink a coffee for starters, just to widen the world again. From moving several times to different cities and having to connec from start again, I know that joining some club (sport, knitting, paying cards or board games) is a good way to start. Somthing that you have at least a little interest in. Or offer walkies for dogs at the shelter?
