@LnzyHou I recently started dyeing mine as well! Unfortunately it only lasts about two weeks each time.

@Irishroze you’re strong and you’re doing the thing! You should feel proud.

I painted my nails yesterday. It was good for my mental health, since I’ve been having a hard time with bathing and changing clothes in the cast. I’ve been in pajamas for two weeks and haven’t even bothered with my eyebrows (and why would I when I’m not going anywhere?)

48 hours from now I will be out of the cast!

Now that all the streaming subscription services have ads, we might as well go back to cable. At least you only had to have one account with cable. 😒

@KazzyH not yet unfortunately. I think the cast might be irritating the nerves. But I just need to tough it out for a few more days and then I’m seeing my surgeon.

Watching the unread emails notification count go up because I’m not allowed to check work email while on leave for my surgery. 880 so far 🙃

6 sleeps until I get the cast off 🩷

I dread going to bed now. Nerve pain gets worse at night and my heel starts to feel sore in the cast. Just can’t get comfortable.

I have contact dermatitis from the knee scooter. Didn’t know that was a thing.

The best thing so far (aside from the knowledge that my foot will be fixed when it heals!) is that now that I’m getting my energy back I can get sooo much knitting done.

It occurs to me that going back to therapy prior to my second foot surgery could be beneficial. Otherwise, I might not even do it because I can’t take the health anxiety.

On-call surgeon said just call my regular surgeon Monday unless it’s excruciating, which it isn’t. On the bright side, my boss sent me flowers 🥰

Also when I stepped on it, it hurt and I knew immediately it was a mistake so I yelled “SHIT! Fuck!” and my husband did not come running. He said it’s because I didn’t say “help”. 😒 Not that he could’ve done anything anyway, but HE didn’t know that. It doesn’t fill me with confidence, that’s all.

I lost my balance on the knee scooter tonight and stood on my healing foot. I was about to ice one last time before bed anyway thankfully. Now I get to call the on-call surgeon in the morning to see if I need X-rays.

Distracting myself from the OCD compulsions about blood clots by watching true crime docs. So far I’ve made it through Don’t Fuck With Cats, Vatican Girl, Girl in the Picture, Missing: The Lucie Blackman Case, and Sins of Our Mother. Working on I Just Killed My Father now.

Can’t sleep, too busy thinking about pulmonary embolisms

Day 4 almost over. Switched from Percocet to Tylenol without any problems. Still not brave enough to try and bathe but I think I’m getting around better.

Today was day 3 (not counting surgery day itself). Pain is way better, so tomorrow I’m going to swap to Tylenol extra strength. I managed to change my clothes today. Also had to figure out maneuvering the knee scooter in the bathroom because I have bruises from the crutches.
