@peeppeepcircus I’ve been pretty diligent about both. But I don’t like taking the maximum dose of the pain meds because it feels kinda scary. I guess I should be doing it anyway, at least for today and maybe tomorrow.

Update: I lied, the pain is worse than anticipating it was.

You know, the pain is bad but it isn’t as bad as anticipating it was. The surgery itself wasn’t as bad as anticipating it was, either.

The nerve block wore off and the pain is pretty bad even with two Percocet in my system. I’ve been told that today and tomorrow will be the worst days.

Keeping my eye on the prize: 17 days until I get the cast off.

Surgery went well. Apparently I asked the nurse for Sprite instead of water, inexplicably. Almost fell getting to navigate the front walk on crutches but managed not to put my foot down. Now collapsed in the bed with an ice pack to hopefully take a nap.

Wish I had realized before we bought this house that living across the street from a high school means living across the street from a shitty marching percussion section that practices daily for most of the year 😒

Being excited about my job instead of dreading going to work is such a dramatic change. It’s been years since I’ve actually enjoyed work.

I just realized today is my 9 year workiversary. It's gone by so fast.

I actually helped a customer today! And I didn't have to talk on the phone with them, but I did help them with something important and my boss was appreciative so win-win-win.

Also my change of assignment at work went through and I’m so thrilled, it’s like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I’d say I didn’t realize how much my previous assignment was sucking the joy out of my life but I actually totally did.
