Oh, that's on purpose! When you post a picture, on regular apps, there's a bunch of data. CoSo strips the data out, but in the process, strips out the part that determines which way is up. All you have to do is use the cropping tool on any image editor to just crop it a teeny bit before posting, and it will be right way up.
It's a protective measure, with an easy workaround.

OMG, do you have an Italian Greyhound? Or a mix???? 😍
@languagehacker
Oh, and the data that is stored in pictures includes things like location, date, etc... not just pixels and colors. You probably already know this.
@janallmac oh hey thank you for the hint on the pics. The one you see in the mix is a pure(in)bred Iggy, and I also have a mix who doesn't like walks as much. Both rescues!

My beloved older dog is an Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix. I absolutely adore that dog beyond all reason. She's a natural therapy dog, and fancies herself a guard dog, also, so I don't tell her that literally no person or dog is afraid of her little overly protective butt.
@languagehacker Upload strips everything out for security, including orientation. Just crop it a hair or use landscape and all will be well. 😊
@languagehacker if you do a little editing before you post, like some minor cropping, it should post correctly. I had the same problem at first.
@languagehacker this is a feature. The apps strips meta data from all images. This is to protect you. Take a pic landscape on iPhone it open image in an image editor, rotate and export.
