Someone had to give him up to the Romans, so Judas was chosen/volunteered.

It was God's will that Jesus be crucified. Why blame Judas for what's destined to happen?
@mcfate Because Judas had free will. He *chose* to do it. We are discussing why he did it, which is an academic exercise since we can't possibly know his motivation
