@killingfloorman I tend to go with the βGood Guy Judasβ theory.
Someone had to give him up to the Romans, so Judas was chosen/volunteered.

@mcfate he ABSOLUTELY had free will. As a man he of course didn't want to suffer. As God, he knew that it was necessary, and so chose to do it (thankfully)
