@killingfloorman Not quite. For instance, with autism , the person has more neurons & synapses in their brain than ānormalā people. Itās as if the brain is evolving and trying to create new connections. š

@killingfloorman More. Iāve been in the ASD field since before it was a dx here in the states. 1977 was my 1st yr of working w/ severely autistic children & realized it was my calling. I never achieved the education I wanted but have kept up w/ research. Oh, and Iāve an adult autistic dtr of my own. We were told sheād never speak, really finish H. S., & never attend college. She achieved it all. šLanguage is still very much a challenge, but she does just fine. My spouse is on the spectrum, too.
