"Strategy" is a stepwise journey towards a goal.
Those steps may be uncomfortable and may, on their surface, be counterproductive.

For instance, my wife hates demolition during a renovation. But she sure likes a new kitchen.

Sometimes the destruction sets up the pathway towards greater progress.

But, never discount morality in those steps.

The ends are never the only justification for the means.

That's why progress is hard and complex.

When I think about the root of my passion regarding the Ukraine and Israel conflicts, it occurs to me that it will always be different from those that have some skin in the game.
I am not a Jew nor Israeli.
I am not a Ukrainian nor Russian.

My passion seems to be in my desire to seek out solutions. Ultimately, my passion is for humanity to make progress. Anything that gets in the way of progress is a problem.

That being said, in order to renovate you have to do demolition.

I think Hamas supporters are 2/3 religiously driven and 1/3 rabid. We should be on-guard everywhere for those people. I fear that in my hometown far from Israel.

The Palestinian supporters are a different mix of those attributes with a smattering of sophomoric assurance that all will be better when the fighting stops. It's like taking aspirin to heal a festering boil on your forehead to minimize the pain.

Yet, there are many ways of dealing with that boil.

Is this a cultural threshold for that community?

What else does it indicate besides the high level of fear and/or anger?

Is there a religious influence within their decision?

My fear is that they are driven by an ethnic-cleansing anger and not a war effort that will ultimately deliver stability and regional peace.

Just spent two days successfully coding a website to manage a large project hitting the OpenAI database.

I don't know how to code very well.

But ChatGPT got me over the finish line.

It's still not easy. You do have to know what you are doing in detail.

But, you don't need to work out all of the syntax - something that would burn up days of frustrating effort.

I'm making incredible progress with the help of AI.

I think that there is a consequential line to cross when you use the term "your own people."

While Hamas is definitely an outgrowth of the Palestinians and their condition, I wouldn't consider them to be "their own people" as much as I'd consider the US-based Proud Boys to be my own people.

This is my effort to unpack the nature of "groupism".

If every Palestinian is on a path towards Hamas-like beliefs and actions, then I rescind my concern. I don't know...yet.

- The Republicans continue to make no progress
- The Dems find an outsider that they can trust to keep their word
- The outsider is probably a Republican that has worked well with the Dems in the past
- The Dems find a handful of Republicans that can support the outsider
- That outsider gets elected and pisses off 90% of the Republicans
- The outsider is Liz Cheney
