Single rocket fired out of Gaza city. Launcher gets almost IAF immediate attention.
Moments later another rocket from a different location in Gaza city. Same result.
More moments later a third rocket from a third location. This one breaks up in flight spewing wreckage and HE warhead over northern Gaza. No attention for this one (please, by all means keep shelling your own people).

I think that there is a consequential line to cross when you use the term "your own people."
While Hamas is definitely an outgrowth of the Palestinians and their condition, I wouldn't consider them to be "their own people" as much as I'd consider the US-based Proud Boys to be my own people.
This is my effort to unpack the nature of "groupism".
If every Palestinian is on a path towards Hamas-like beliefs and actions, then I rescind my concern. I don't know...yet.
