@Soultender
I do try to be objective.
(BTW, Chesa is a guy)

I'm a firm believer in helping humanity make progress.

But, some problems are too hard for one entity to fix.

Chesa thinks he can do it with the DA's office alone. He's not enlisted the Police, City Hall, nor any formal programs with community groups that could actually move the needle. A criminal has to, literally, commit murder, rape or assault with a gun to be prosecuted.

Big problems need a village to fix.

@Soultender
Yes, there should be a revised sentencing criteria. But violent offenders are not going to be rehabilitated by merely letting them go.
Last year the DA let a domestic violence perpetrator go free and 2 months later he killed his girlfriend's baby.

The solution is upstream from the time of the crime. That's where the progressive programs should be focused. Keep kids from becoming comfortable with crime.

@Soultender
We're trying to see if the data supports the hypothesis that Chesa Boudin's (our DA) policies are allowing more offenders to go free or get their offenses reduced.
Anecdotal info seems to show that's an overwhelming truth.

My wife and I were shot at a year ago and I've been interested in crime in our city ever since.

Maybe Q2 should have been:
- Do they have a plan to "mitigate" Putin that requires something kinetic happening within Russia that only the Ukrainians can currently execute?

I just spent my Sunday parsing and cleaning the California Penal Codes so I can load them into a database and analyze the history of the San Francisco DA's case-disposition.

My brain is fried.

And, looking at all of those offenses makes me want to take a shower.

. @Render
With this trajectory, do you think that Blinken and Austin's visit is to plan an offensive? Maybe they know how to mitigate the nuclear threat if they can go deeper into Russia?

Really awesome to see CoSo listed as a Tw alternative along with TikTok and Instagram 😍

Thank you @Marmel 💛

The Belarusian railway workers who helped thwart Russia’s attack on Kyiv

"Starting in the earliest days of the invasion in February, a clandestine network of railway workers, hackers and dissident security forces went into action to disable or disrupt the railway links connecting Russia to Ukraine through Belarus, wreaking havoc on Russian supply lines."

You are going to have to define the scope of the target before I can settle down and accept this guidance.

Just spent an hour with my mother-in-law at her palliative care residence.

While terribly sad to see her decline, it teaches me so much about who we are and how we consider the world before us.

She's terrified, stressed and confused. The information coming in from her eyes and ears takes a long time to make sense. And she's very unhappy.

Data --> Information --> Comprehension --> Emotional reaction. When any of those steps get compromised, we are unhappy.

We still have so much to learn.
