Wait... you had to be coerced too!?!

I was such a looser...

@WeThePeople

Since when did high school boys need an incentive to get sex?

The "rape" charge is legitimate, but there seems to be a lot more to the story.

@Dane
Find a terracotta pot that fits into a decorative one.
Personally, I don't use drainage pots. I just soak and dump out the water every 2 weeks. All 10 of mine are in bloom together!

I believe we should just expect our internet to be disrupted once Russia invades Ukraine.

Then gas prices will spike.

Then Biden will release the strategic oil reserves.

Then we will see all sorts of cyber attacks throughout NATO countries.

We will also probably get to DEFCON 4 at some point, but will not know it for 10 years.

The San Francisco school board recall was about GOVERNANCE.
Not POLICY.

If you want to be in government, you need to govern.

If you are only focused on policy, governing is compromised.

If you are only focused on equality issues at the expense of getting children back into the classroom, you are not governing.

That's why we threw them out 3-to-1.

As long as I can take a pee really quickly when I need to do so.

@Old_Dave @Thumprhare @tyghebright
The boundary between non-circle and circle is one we don't discuss enough.

That boundary is the source of a lot of anger and anxiety.

Our brains want order and simplicity, but the world/universe doesn't give a shit.

We learn a lot about ourselves and our community when we study the boundaries.

@misterfive
I've always thought the church should get out of the civil-marriage business and only stick to the spiritual stuff.

Well, isn't this a messy one!

"...thousands of baptisms he had performed were invalid because he had changed a single word. He said, "We baptize you ... ," instead of "I baptize you ... ."

"Subsequent sacraments, including marriage, may need to be repeated by those who had invalid baptisms performed by Arango, according to the Diocese of Phoenix. "

How many galaxies are there out there?

So many that when you run a simulation of what happens when two galaxies run into one another, you can find actual examples of two galaxies that ran into each other and are now at the point depicted in the simulation, if you go and look for 'em.

"How many zeroes is that...?"
"Quite a few."

"Clucked": When you reach out to click a link and the screen changes, causing you to click something different.

A combination of "Clicked" and "Fucked".

I just spent 3 months designing a mechanism with a huge torsion spring. Over-engineered, but it should have worked well for its purpose.

I just determined that I designed it backwards.

I made this realization after fabricating the parts, tuning it, installing it, and loading it up with 100 lbs of skull-splattering torque.

Sometimes you need to keep asking yourself the most simple questions before asking the harder ones.

@WeThePeople
And that would imply that they were able to store 960,000 lbs (12 X 2000 X 40) of food for the trip.
Bail of hay: 40lbs. = 24,000 bales. Volume: @ 5.25 cu ft./bale = 126,000 cu ft, or a cube 50 ft on each side.

New Rule:
If you are not attempting to solve a problem you cannot complain about it.
"Attempting" includes trying to understand the problem.

We should be clarifying the term "stupid" for use in the cultural arguments clouding our society.

@WeThePeople
Well, I'm glad someone got that taken care of, finally. What took so long?

An ethical position cannot be rationalized by a religious belief.

It is, fundamentally, a BELIEF.

A belief might make a person think something is wrong, and therefore unethical or immoral. But, it is still grounded in a belief.

If someone cannot successfully argue, without referring to spirit or soul or God's Creation, that a fully defined human being is created at conception, then we cannot get to the argument about the ethics of abortion.

A belief is insufficient for a morality.

@LadyZurk
So, timing is everything?

My point: Assessing integrity is used to determine if someone will act in a trustable manner. They will respect the Means as well as the Ends.

If a drug cartel kills a friend because they, the drug cartel, lack integrity, but eventually come around and recognizes their wrongful action, my friend is still dead. I would have been a fool to assume that they had integrity when they were deciding on killing my friend. (BTW, no friends were harmed :-)
