Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful.

The power house band from Finland recently had some of their albums reissued on spectacular splatter vinyl. This album was originally released in 2015.

The presentation is excellent with both LP’s house in a gatefold cover. The inner sleeves are glossy so the vinyl needs protecting with better sleeves.

The vinyls are a beautiful transparent with black and gold (or yellow) splatter.

It’s the Queen of Doom, Chelsea Wolfe and her incredible ‘Abyss’.

This is a black and blue transparent splatter vinyl and looks as wonderful as the album itself. Its all housed in a matte effect gatefold sleeve.

The album is dark, it’s moody, it’s brooding, it’s haunting, it’ll challenge you to listen to every nuance, but it’s never bland or safe. Time to live on the edge!

Oceansize - Everyone into Position, a classic blast from the mid-noughties (2005 to be exact).

The album was originally released on black vinyl and there was also a reissue in 2011. The version in the photo is the 2022 reissue on a gloriously bright yellow splatter! You knew I was going to buy the splatter version, didn’t you!

I got this for High Desert Queen, and their Texas Desert-Dry Rock-new LP due May! 🤘

Blue Heron are a very different sound but the styles work well together on this EP

Amplifier’s brilliant self-titled debut album was recorded in 2002-2003 and released in 2004. It didn’t appear on vinyl until 2016 and was reissued on colour swirl wax in 2022 along with an extra track. The new ‘encore’ piece is called Glory Electricity and is just as strong as the other tracks.

This album can be explosive, it can be mellow, but overall it is quite hypnotic and takes you on a fantastic journey - listen to the lyrics carefully, they’re subtle!

It’s one of my favourites! 🤘🤘

@DyDave Really good film. Tom Hanks is also great in Finch (another ATV exclusive).

ATV have had some great stuff lately. Really enjoyed Silo, Foundation, Severance and Slow Horses for a start. All quality series IMHO.

@DyDave Yes. I agree. It took a couple of episodes to get going but the rest of the series is brilliant. Only eclipsed by Lower Decks and some of Picard IMHO. 🤔

@voltronic Thanks. I really like the sound of this Rega TT. I’ve had a few TT’s from manufacturers such as Michel Engineering, Pro-Ject, etc, over the years, but this is my favourite. Added the Rega Neo PSU too as it makes changing speeds very easy (no belt change required) and allows fine tuning the rotation speed close to almost perfect.

Those masters of psychedelic trance and ambient, Shpongle, reissued all there albums on limited edition colour vinyls. I decided to grab a copy of the first album, Are You Shpongled. And here it is, a striking blue and black swirl triple LP set!

Myrkur’s style of Nordic influenced atmospheric black metal sounds fabulous on LP.
