@Anouk Don’t hold your breath. SCOTUS is not about to hold Trump responsible. And guess where Trump’s conviction appeal will end up?
Okay, Biden, if the polls can be believed, didn’t lose ground in the debate and even turned it into a donation event. Hard to fathom, but if Trump can turn his indictments and convictions into a positive, anything is possible this election cycle. But does anyone believe Biden’s performance will win him new voters? And will the voters he has be voting for Biden or against Trump, which is essentially what happened in 2020? Trump has true believers in key swing-state positions this time around.
@junation Even Harris pointed out Biden’s bad performance. But jeez, of course she’d be openly supportive. She’s on the ticket!
@publickovacs Strong electorally, if you’re honest. It showed when she ran for president, and it shows now in poll after poll, though a big reason for that, I’m sure, is her being first in line for the presidency.
@AlphaCentauri Doesn’t surprise me, and I think Hispanic men have the same mindset overall. And white men won’t admit it!
@TetsuKaba You’re assuming the alternative would be white. Not necessarily. And it could still be a woman, though I still think Americans aren’t ready yet for a woman president, and let’s face it, that’s what we’re talking about - the VP taking over in a Biden second term either through death or the 25th Amendment. But you’re right - being seen as forcing Harris out would be a bad move. Harris would have to do it herself “for the good of the country.”
@JV3MJD Idiot Trump conflating electric with solar. But as it happens, there is research underway to actually develop solar-powered airplanes.

Interesting idea, but it has a flaw. Harris’s approval numbers are worse than Biden’s. And, she’s a woman of color to boot. How about this? Harris bows out so that Biden can have a strong VP candidate able to take over when necessary. Folks wouldn’t trust Harris in that role. Biden ain’t gonna quit before the election, so there needs to be a good alternative VP in place.
@Charles_Hawtrey @EvilBunny Totally agree.
@EvilBunny Not really their job. Biden was supposed to do that, but he failed miserably.
Yeah, of course it’s the time zones. But what biggies originate on the West Coast? The Academy Awards? They start in the early evening, so we on the other side of the country will have it in prime time.(And it still runs too late.) I never watch sports events taking place in California - past my bedtime!
