@AskTheDevil I really don’t care how you feel about Biden or Trump. We have a forum here in which to express opinions, and you’re welcome to yours.
@AskTheDevil And that’s Biden’s fault? Another Trump administration giving more tax breaks to the super rich will improve their lot? Give me a break. Biden, through multiple measures, is trying to improve the lives of the poor. What has Trump done or will do in that regard, other than make it even harder for the poor to climb out of poverty?
@Wbtphdjd Exactly. All MAGA voters will complain about the economy despite their individual situations.
@stephen_a_allen Well, Johnson did nothing about MTG wearing a MAGA hat, even though it’s against the rules to wear any hat in the chamber unless it’s part of a religious belief. So MTG gets a pass because she ascribes to the Trump religion?
@realJanet You’re probably right.

If the Supreme Court says only Congress can disqualify someone from federal office...
What happens when Democrats win the House and take the majority on January 3, 2025?
Their first act should be the immediate disqualification of Donald Trump and ALL of his J6 co-conspirators.
@Priestess Hillary was the only candidate Trump could beat, and he still needed some lucky breaks. He’s got the same situation this time, with Biden the only Dem he can beat. But it works both ways. Trump is the only R Biden can beat.
@Razdawg22 He averaged 44+ points per game. He was a phenom. We’ll never see his likes again. A player that good now would jump to the NBA after just one year in college.
While I’m happy for Caitlin Clark and her setting a new college basketball scoring record set by “Pistol” Pete Maravich over 50 years ago, we should compare apples with apples. Maravich established the record in three years (freshmen then could not play on the varsity team) and there was no three-point shot yet. Clark is in her fourth year and has scored a ton of threes. Good for Clark and what she has done for women’s basketball, but let’s not forget Pistol Pete.
@johnldeboer The MAGA aren't just stupid. They're DANGEROUSLY stupid....and proud of it.
Did you see clips of Trump speeches over the weekend? Biden might stumble over a word or two, but at least what he says is intelligible and not a ranting word salad of sentences that aren’t even understandable English increasingly with Trump. Yet the MAGA crowd cheers with each nonsensical gaffe. Trump gets lost in mid-sentence despite having a teleprompter. But, of course, Biden is too old to be President
As expected, with the Supreme Court deciding to take Trump’s absolute immunity claim (completely flabbergasting all the legal experts), there’s no way any Trump trial will be finished, let alone get started, before the election. Just the way he wanted it. Now the only thing he has to do now is win that election. And he could do it with less than 40% of the vote, thanks to our antiquated Electoral College. Yikes!
@johnldeboer: It kinda looks that is the way things are going, yes, even with lately great work by UKR forces and the Soviet's general staff ineptitude. Europe's trying to help, but without a substantial uptick from them it looks bad. If the Soviets do manage to claw back and force a "diplomatic solution", the reputation of the US will be mud. We will have been totally shown to be unreliable, corrupted from within by the enemies of freedom and democracy.
@danielbsmith Yeah, well, I hope you’re right. I have no problem with optimism, though I’m firmly in the realist camp. Without U.S. financial /military support, I can’t see Ukraine winning. Maybe an eventual stalemate, but with big chunks of Ukraine territory in Russia’s hands. And voting out the do-nothing Congress can’t happen for another eight months!
Hate to say this, but the fight to save Ukraine from Putin seems to be lost - thanks to a Republican Congress, which is still on break with no plan to grant aid to Ukraine when they return. Much more important for them is to continue Biden’s impeachment process despite no evidence of corruption and their “smoking guns” have been destroyed.
@dfohio That sanctity of life dichotomy has always been a part of the Christian right. Go figure.
@Bix Who’da thunk it? The historically rabid anti-Communist, anti-Russia party now in Putin’s camp. And it’s because of Trump. Gotta hand it to Putin. He saw the opportunity Trump presented and went with it. Likely surprised Putin too. But finding a Democrat shill would have been too obvious, since Russia sympathizers have been Democrats, by and large, in the past.
