Apparently it's a baking kind of weekend.

Fresh out of the oven: mocha dark chocolate (with chili) cookies.

Realistically, I just want a go-to, quick rise recipe that I know like the back of my hand, so I can throw together fresh bread easily, and customize with things like rosemary from our garden, aromatics, that kind of thing. I'm overdue to have my own tried-and-true. #BreadMaking

Okay, Test batch 3 is a clear winner here. #KitchenWitch

Test batch 1: overnight rise. absolute trash fire. into the bin.

Test batch 2: 2 hour rise. took 3 in our chilly house. made a couple of decent first loaves!

Test batch 3: currently rising.

I'm going to get this nailed down this weekend if it's the last thing I do.

Welp, after a solid 6 year run, our #NinjaCoffee maker is starting to utter its death rattle. A workhorse that rarely took a day off, it's had a good run, and now it's time to let it rest.

Just put Mickey's Winter Wonderland from Main Street Melts into the diffuser. If y'all haven't smelled these amazing scents, you're missing out. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Taking today to test drive a few basic bread recipes, to find my perfect go-to, do-in-my-sleep option. Can't believe I don't already have one, given how much time I spend in the kitchen. Embarrassing, really.

Pretty sure my husband is out giving driving lessons in an empty parking lot to our 15 year old. So many things I don't mind - and am actually quite excited about - her growing into. This one slaps differently. I wish I could tell her: please wait. Cars are just so dangerous.
