Interesting visit to the optician today. She said your eyes normally change by 2 points between visits, this time they've changed 45 points!!! Yikes! I mean, I was noticing a tiny difference, but nowhere near that! Possible cataract surgery in a year if they get so quickly worse again. They will keep checking them. Headache now. Bright lights in my eyes, puffs of air, eyeballs like saucers with the drops! Dark room and coffeeeee. LOL 😎

@homebird Cataract surgery wasn't bad at all , for me, and made a huge difference.

@TheresaVermont I'm glad to hear that! She said there was some risk because of a previous vitreous tear, but not to worry about it just yet.

@homebird My mom was always afraid of cataracts surgery. That led to problems; she walked into a door and ruptured a cataract. Took multiple visits to different ophthalmologists to find one to do specialized surgery. He did a miracle to restore her sight. First thing she noticed was colors, which had been very dim due to the cataracts. When it's time, do the surgery, if they think it makes sense.

@TheresaVermont I will. I mean, the very thought of it is scary, but I am assured that I won't even be able to focus properly to see what they're doing anyway! 😂 Better than not seeing at all!

@homebird Thinking through this entire conversation, I appreciate your trepidation. I hope all goes well from here. Hopefully the cataracts will not change from this stage.

@TheresaVermont @homebird I had a neighbor who had cataract surgery and the doctor screwed it up. She ended up losing vision in that eye.

@cjcrew @homebird It's so important to find the right doctor. I have eye issues, and I really do deep research on my ophthalmologists. My point was that not doing the surgery does not mean a person avoid problems.

@TheresaVermont @cjcrew Yeah I agree! I will have it done, just not looking forward to the process :P

@homebird @TheresaVermont I don’t blame you. Fingers and toes crossed that everything goes as it should with an excellent outcome.

@TheresaVermont @homebird Not doing the surgery means losing your site in that eye. I’d do the surgery but I think I’d get at least an hour and a half from this area to have it done.

@cjcrew @TheresaVermont They said that was always a possibility because a previous vitreous tear but it's rare.

@homebird @cjcrew @TheresaVermont My wife just had cataract surgery. She is very happy with the improvement.

@homebird @TheresaVermont I’m sure it’s rare, I’ve had several surgeries done, mostly on my knees, and heard all the horror stories about surgeries that failed. Don’t listen to those of us who do that, the majority of surgeries go without a hitch, I’m sure yours will as well.
