there were those anticipating climate change in the 60s, scientists working for oil magnates, and early environmentalists.
sci fi and fantasy predicted much of this. Rod Serling, episode He's Alive as one example.
what's missing is the collective will to work for the benefit of all, insufficient to accept any "inconvenience" at all, for the sake of all.
and an economy now under takeover by plutocrat wannabes.
