This the problem...
If, as its been termed, Earth is simply a rest stop on the way to eternal happiness in heaven... And the general religious attitude of do anything you want and be absolved on your death bed... Why would they spend their time and effort fixing someplace they don't want to be?

Reminds me of RW idiots who won't treat global warming as a real possibility and do the smart thing, but they'll turn around and try to convert an agnostic by asking If there's even a chance that God exists, why not play it safe?
