I think from J's end, it's less difficult. Bot farms have to have access to a large number of IP addresses to register from. That's part of why J blocks whole countries that serve botfarmer customers. It makes the other abused IP addresses easier to identify and block.

I tend to doubt literal bot farms. The fact that posts can't be crawled by search engines except what's on their PLP makes it less attractive. But I think there is an aggrieved community of former -ees who find it amusing to try to stir shit up here.
