Doing a potty break with four dogs is tricky, so I sometimes only take half the spunk and attitude and then come back for the second half. What this looks like in practice is taking 175 pounds of herding dog in round one, and 20 pounds of Lhasa Apso in the second. Then the two rounds have equal spunk and attitude.

mine was very attentive, followed me everywhere. loved baths and brushing. not fond of tooth brushing or nail clipping but put up with it once i tamed the wild Lhasa with hugs and snuggles.

oh, yes. they have to be FIRST. mine always claimed the ball when playing with his friend Sheltie even though he was bigger.
"Lhasa Apso don't fetch" was his motto, they grab and keep👹
they were bred to guard Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, the home guard, while mastiffs roamed the grounds and perimeter.
a pack of those little beasties grabbing your ankles if you made it past the mastiffs would be the finisher.
you take your life in your hands if enter the breeding pen.

One of my friends said that as a last line of defense, the minks would throw the Lhasas at the intruders. The stories of the breed are amazing for sure.

Neville is our first dog of this type and two years + in, it is still an adjustment. We adore him though! But look at how the herders are like "she is our Hooman, we have to look at her" and Neville is like "I don't have to to a damn thing" 🤣
