@poemblaze Whisky?
One action we can take to reduce our impact on the climate is to stop producing and eating beef.
Scroll down in this article to see the table and charts. Very informative.
I gave up beef & pork years ago. I still eat dairy (mainly yogurt and milk) but as you'll see, dairy production is far less damaging to the environment than beef production.
@ShaneArtBooks Never looked back after "Diet for a Small Planet" in my 20s. I do not understand why we can't learn & change!
@richquaal Excellent!
2. Thomas Nast
From the Bill of Rights Institute:
"Tweed feared Nast’s cartoons to a much greater extent than newspaper articles, because many of his constituents were illiterate, and he even offered Nast a bribe to stop these public criticisms. Tweed was right to fear this criticism because Nast’s cartoons helped lead to his downfall and arrest in 1876. Tweed died in jail in 1878, and Nast continued to draw for Harper’s Weekly until 1886."
Absolute legend. No notes.

Day 7: I'd wager that most have seen this, it's gone viral at least a couple of times, but it remains one of the most powerful examples of kinetic art I've ever seen. Lovely, sad, it's "Can't Help Myself" by Sun Yuan & Peng Yu

In Russia, you can fall ten stories from the balcony of your windowless cellar apartment.
It's miraculous that way.

Shklyarov condemned Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in a now-deleted Instagram post from March 2022, declaring his opposition to “all kinds of military actions.”
@holon42 Yes, it was given permission to exist in the time of Stalin
I want a party that names billionaires it's enemy and welcomes their hated
The meme is correct--the problem isn't that we can't meet the needs of the poor, it's that the rich are insatiable
