@gemswinc I'm convinced that sexism was a huge factor in this election. It isn't being acknowledged sufficiently. Arab Americans and many others as well.
I remember back in 2016 when they talked to a voter in Utah, it's always stuck in my mind how he said "Trump is awful, I dislike him and disagree with everything he says - but I can't bring myself to vote for a woman." 🙄
In October, a grocery store clerk helped me to take my groceries to my car. We started talking about the coming election. He told me then that he couldn't vote for Kamala because, "I don't think a woman should be president." I asked why. He had no answer.
Ever since Hillary Clinton ran people have been saying stupid shit like that. Someone told me that they didn't have a problem with a woman president, just not her. Or her. Or her. 🙄
