Why I go... to help with thousands of throwaway children. As a christian nation that has no social safety net, where contraception is not readily available and abortion is outlawed, kids are abandoned in the streets or dropped off at orphanages or sold in to sex trade. It's heartbreaking work but I go and help and then come home and heal from π
@gemswinc Doing humanitarian work in several islands off beaten path of the Philappine. I do this every 5-7 yrs. I cant bring coffee with me because drug smugglers use it to throw off dogs, so dogs now target coffee.
Where I am going I will be eating very basics. suitcase space is for personal water filtration systems other than clothes. I will barely have plumbing and electric, so no AC or refrigerators. Millions live this way so it keeps me humble & grateful.
