Dead trees are falling ...property two over

@gemswinc 😬I'm waiting here for some around my neighborhood, that look too frail to hold on, to fall. Hopefully they'll hang on in this breze

@gemswinc

I fear more of this due to climate change issues.

Recently the emerald ash borer was found in Maine ( started 6 years ago ) beech tree disease and white pine needle disease ..

They all weaken the trees.

@KazzyH @gemswinc

I remember when we had ash trees here. Shit, I remember elms. 💔

@BosmangBeratna @gemswinc

Mighty magnificent elms. Ah damned Dutch elm disease. I remember them too lining many a road.

@KazzyH @gemswinc We had something like 10 ash trees in our yard in Michigan. All died of emerald ash borer within 18 months. It was expensive. to remove. We then lost one white pine to pine wilt. When we left, the 4 pin oaks, all huge, were dying of oak wilt.

@TheresaVermont @KazzyH Oh no! Expensive to remove is an understatement 🙄 I do not want to hear about WP or Oak Wilt. 🚫 That's mostly all I have left. We witness environmental destruction

@gemswinc @KazzyH We were told that the dead trees were weak but would likely take at least 7 years to fall. I don’t know how true that is now. This was 2005 or so. I think there’s treatment that can help them live longer now. Same with oak wilt. But the oak wilt treatment wasn’t helping our trees.

@KazzyH The pines in the backyard died over several years. The trees in the front, and down the driveway were gone in months, more environmental stress now. @TheresaVermont
