Okay, did the “Blue Sky” experience and was unimpressed. Too many people either trying to convince people to self-disenfranchise or lying about laws, how laws work or how law is made.
So much stupid, so little time.
If you have to spend all of your time blocking bad actors, it’s just not worth it. And BOY are there a lot of bad actors. Pretty easy to spot; they’re the ones that don’t know recent American history or attempt to make it up.
Just awful.
@feloneouscat Sorry to hear about your bad experiences there. I haven't had an issue on BlueSky. I've come to understand that there are some cultural differences on the platform that take a bit of adjustment for comfort level, but again, it's one of my cool spots.
I just had to explain on the political thread that Congress is made up by the House and Senate.
It’s so depressing.
@feloneouscat I set up there because a lot of the artists I used to follow in the Xitter moved there. I thought I could cultivate a timeline I preferred and ignore the BS. It's not going well. Here I was able to find follows and build a timeline of people I enjoy and am glad to interact with. There with no app that saves my place I have to scroll backwards through conversations I care little about. It's confusing and unpleasant.
@Fellixe
It is, at best, flawed and at worse is no better than Twitter just before Musk bought it.
The only thing I like is the transformation of links to “cards” (so you don’t lose your precious characters).
But blocking all the obvious trolls is tiresome.
For me it is people who want to talk politics that don’t know how a law is passed. Or don’t want to vote. Or don’t want to “keep their soul clean” (politics is nasty biz!)
Very irritating.
@feloneouscat
Thanks for the info on Blue Sky.
You just made up my mind not to sign up.
