“But President Biden should still pardon Donald Trump because the impact an extended trial and sentencing might have on our democracy is just too terrifying.”

Nope.

“If Trump is convicted, as the evidence suggests he should be, how will his devotees navigate his sentencing and imprisonment?”

Move on to the next sparkling object.

“In Watergate, President Ford proactively pardoned Nixon even before he was charged citing concerns that the nation would be too ‘polarized.’”

And Americans were pissed. Ford spent time ACTIVELY OBSTRUCTING investigations into Nixon. He wasn’t an unbiased party who did it for the “good of the country” — he did it because he was partisan.

Let’s stop with the rewrite of history.

“Today, in a world where everything only seems to inspire division, imagine what years of Trump prosecutions will do.”

Put a rapist in prison.

I would call that a good example of a true democracy and the rule of law.

Pardoning him does nothing positive.

@feloneouscat Nope....Ford's pardon of Nixon is a big reason we are here now.

@Razdawg22

I agree 100%. Nixon should not have been pardoned. Trying him would have healed the nation.

Ford was too partisan to understand that.

@feloneouscat
Read an article yesterday saying he couldn't be imprisoned because of his lifetime Secrete Service detail.

Nope.

The SS said earlier this year that, should he be sentenced and imprisoned, the SS detail would still service their potectee.
(Besides, he'd be in some country club prison & likely isolated from other prisoners to make the SS detail's jobs easier & Dump "more secure.")

The part that'll break him will be when he discovers he can't broadcast to his zombies from the pen.
