Weheeee! Discovered the cause of the VM crash - out of memory issue during git pull.
But I need to get this to complete, and it completes fine on most near-identical VMs, and it's cloud, so I can't just throw more RAM at it (we're cheapskates, and it would make for obnoxious DNS entry changes, etc.)
So now I'm running it again immediately after rebooting the VM, monitoring RAM usage. If it gets down to 50 MB free, I'll kill the git pull and give up on it for tonight.

Well, I just discovered that on my "multi-gigabit desktop switch" (4x1Gbit, 2x2.5Gbit, 2x5Gbit, 2x10Gbit) apparently plugging a 10 *M*bit Ethernet system into a 10*G*bit port, it simply won't run it.
Psh, what happened to backward compatibility?!
Also, I can't find any speed tests that work properly on iCab 2.9.9 on Mac System 7.1.2...
Even DSL Reports old "simple" test doesn't work properly on it.
New cable modem with 2.5GbE port, new router with dual 10GbE ports (one SFP,) new desktop switch with multiple 10GbE ports. Just waiting on SFP transceivers and optical cable to connect router to office and I'll be set. (In-wall Cat5 is unreliable at 1 Gbit, no way it'll handle 10, so running an optical cable from router to office.)

Ugh. Almost time to Ctrl-A - Del.
I'm a firm proponent of #InboxZero - but the past two days have been so busy (mostly today) that my inbox is up to 42 emails... That is *NOT* the answer I wanted!
Also, I'm pretty sure this is the first time the "small" MacBook Pro has 100% the same options as the "large" (where the only difference is screen size/resolution.)
I am discounting the 13" "Pro" as a "Pro" any more, now that the 14" is out. Apple doesn't even list it on the same page as the new 14"/16"
