Catch-22 😆 we all belong to one clique or another in some ways
That sais the trick is stay open to others opinions and beliefs no matter what they may be - try not to fall into the trap of removing people from your view/sight just because they go against one groups ideology - which so many people do by blocking people on SM
@elbutterfield if you are using public services and posting things in public timelines then off course unfriendlies could read them
Social media 101 - don't post anything you wouldn't want an enemy to read
When it boils down to it social media posts are being read, if publicly posted, by all sorts of government agencies, not just unfriendly ones, even our own countries
As for private, personal, communications goes try sticking to end 2 end encrypted services for that 😉
"Putin setting the scene for him... so trump will look like a "tough guy" instead of putin's plaything."
Then why would he hold of calling?
Putin knows exactly how to pull trump's strings - this is Putin signaling to trump "take note... You wanna be pals give me what I want" cause Putin knows trump will be getting told not to help Putin via classified reports
Putin's reminding him "ignore them" and "do your own thing" then we can seriously talk
No way to live, saying nothing is safe, that'll lead to some dark places - been there done that
That said I'm in a relatively "sane" country 😆
As for social media i see X as the threat really as in the biggest mainstream one - but mostly what is said on there originates from elsewhere
Like 4Chan, Gab, and other as well as other darker sites the more extreme stuff comes from there then ends up "watered" down on more mainstream sites
Everyone that doesn't think like them, or have the same beliefs, is seen as dumb, uneducated, and part of the problem - when along they are the ones who are creating a fake reality around them where everyone agrees, nods politely, and parrots each other << the world don't work like that
Cliques are a misguided attempt to gain acceptance and influence - In other words, people see cliques as a way to gain popularity, importance, or respect
https://counter.social/@ecksmc/112754225411535815
You create a virtual "echo chamber" for yourself without knowing it - you end up blocking people just for having a diffrence of opinions - anyone who disagrees with your way of thinking is shunned away from view
Its a slippery slop 😬 that so many people fall down without actually knowing it
Never rely on any social media site for your news
Bookmark media outlets and go directly there yourself
By using social media as your only source for news you will become bias to certain things over time that bias turns to more negative thoughts and even anger << you're being manipulated by what others think >> as time goes on that anger becomes toxic >>> you become part of a "clique"

“Together, we’ve not only dismantled malicious infrastructure but also prevented hundreds of thousands of potential victims from falling prey to cybercrime,”
Canada has ordered #TikTok to conclude its operations within the country due to national security concerns.
Canadian law allows the government to review and block foreign investment if it believes they threaten national security.
The announcement stressed that Canadian citizens can still create content and otherwise use the app.
